A Tropical Adventure

A Tropical Adventure

Despite the drizzling rain and thundering skies, a taste of Tropicana was still to be found deep in the bustle of East London’s Hoxton Arches last weekend.  Promising to keep those summer dreams alive, this year’s London Illustration Fair.

With Brazilian BBQ smells and a vibrant buzz escaping from the entrance, many dived in to uncover a true illustration paradise.  The tropical themed fair showcased an eclectic mix of illustration, print and design at its finest.

By bringing established commercial agencies, independent creative start-ups and charities together, the festival was a true celebration of London’s contemporary illustration scene.

Puck Collective’s Ruby Taylor, this year’s featured artist, teased revellers inside with edible-looking watermelon bunting, 3D pineapples and a large-scale ‘Tropicana’ mural, before impressing them with new pieces of work exclusive to the event.

Exhibitions included live drawing from Brothers of the Stripe, interactive postcards with LUFALO and print your own ice-cream monsters by Hello Print Studio.

There were also striking collections displayed by Hero of Switzerland, East London Printmakers, Handsome Frank and JSR Agency to name a few.  For those looking to add some colour into their life, this was one not to be missed!
